What is proteins why they are required

WHAT IS PROTEIN AND WHY DO WE NEED IT ?

 

1. WHAT IS PROTEIN  ?

  • Proteins are the building blocks of our body .

All proteins are made up of is amino acids,

There are 20 amino acids which we get from the food.

9 are essential while 11 are non essential amino acid.

Essential amino acids are those which our body isnt able to synthesize by its own

While non essential are those which our body synthsize by itself eg : glutamic acid is converted to glutamine by our body so glutamine is an non essential amino acid.

FOOD CONSISTING OF BOTH ESSENTIAL AND NON ESSENTIAL AMINO ACID

But it value or its quality soutce depends on how much concentration of essential amino acid it provide compared to non essential

Eg – eggs it consist of all 20 amino acid so is considered high quality protein source

While soy lack some amino acids and as well is low in essential amino acid so its quality source is considered comparetively low.

2. Why is it required ?

As we discussed our body is itself made from various arrangement of amino acid that is proteins .

As you would have commonly heard hair is made up from keratin which is protein .

But our whole body even skeletal muscle are made from protein actin and myosin .

So for its functioning and maintenance guess what does it need .

Yes it itself need protein to sustain itself .

Similar concept goes for muscle building you need protein in order to recover and rebuild your muscle .

As said best protein for muscle recovery is whey or as brand says whey-x , whey iso -x or whey hydro -x .
